The TeBella Tea Company
Who We Are
TeBella Tea is a family owned company committed to providing quality, innovative tea and tea accessories. We offer nearly 100 premium loose leaf teas, representing some of the highest quality specialty teas from the finest tea gardens in the world. We have hand-selected each of our teas to meet superior standards for freshness, flavor, quality, and sustainability. From world renowned traditional teas to exceptional flavored teas, even herbal teas–it’s simply all about the tea. We believe in taking a fresh approach to a time-honored tradition, lending a modern perspective to today’s vibrant tea culture.
What We Support
At TeBella Tea Company we strongly support social and environmental responsibility. We carry a large selection of USDA-certified organic loose leaf teas as well as several other teas from small artisan gardens that engage in organic farming practices, yet for whom the certification process is cost prohibitive.
We also offer a number of Fair Trade certified teas, most notably a line of Fair Trade Rooibos blends from South Africa. Although not all of our growers enjoy the distinction of Fair Trade certification, many of the tea gardens we buy from are well known for exercising fair and ethical practices with respect to their workers. In particular, our Assam black tea comes from a 200-year-old family-owned estate in the foothills of the Himalayas that offers its employees free housing, on-site health care, food and clothing subsidies, and access to educational opportunities.
What We Use
Due to our commitment to environmental consciousness, our packaging is made from 40 percent recycled natural kraft paper (25 percent post-consumer) and lined with a compostable film made from a renewable plant source.
In our Davis Island store in Tampa, we use hot cups that are 100 percent compostable and have a plastic lining made from plants, not oil. Our cold cups and straws are made from corn and are also 100 percent compostable.
We are proud of the efforts we have made toward a sustainable future, and we will continue to look for ways to be environmentally responsible.
Where We’re Located
As a local business in the heart of Tampa Bay, Florida, we are proud to be active members of our community. You will often find TeBella Tea Co. out and about participating in local farmers’ markets, fundraisers and community events. In South Tampa we participate in the Hyde Park Village Fresh Market on the first Sunday of every month. We also attend the Fresh Market at the Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel on the first and third Saturday of each month. We are avid supporters of local non-profits like the Seminole Heights Community Garden, the Centre and the Hillsborough Education Foundation. We have donated more than a hundred gallons of tea to various fundraising endeavors, from the Davis Islands’ Annual Ice Cream Social to the launch party for Local Dirt, and we will continue to do so. TeBella also supports the local community by offering complimentary lectures for local garden clubs, women’s groups and civic organizations. We simply never tire of talking about tea!
